252 Basics
252 Basics draws from the model of a boy who set the ultimate example for all of us to follow, Jesus.
Luke 2:52 says, “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”
The kind of growth modeled by Jesus happens by intention, not by accident. So children learn wisdom (“I need to make the wise choice.”), faith (“I can trust God no matter what.”) and friendship (“I should treat others the way I want to be treated“).
ThinkOrange
ThinkOrange and 252 Basics are the strategies that we use to minister to children and their families. The concepts and principles that have formed this strategy are best described as a color, the color orange. Orange represents the idea that two forces working together will have exponentially more influence than either entity alone. Orange is achieved by mixing the colors red and yellow together. Red represents the family because of the unconditional love a parent has for their child. While yellow represents the church because the church is intended to be the light that illuminates God’s word. For us, orange means our parents and church family working together to make life changing differences in the children entrusted to our care.
